At least 26 people are injured after a tent collapsed in Illinois on Thursday.

The tent collapsed in the parking lot of the Cintas Uniform Services store in Bedford Park around 10:45 a.m., police said.

According to Bedford Park Police Chief Tom Hansen, at least 26 people were injured and transported to hospitals. Five were seriously injured.

Cintas released a statement saying several employees were injured in the collapse that happened during an employee appreciation event.

We are cooperating with local officials to determine the cause of the incident. Cintas will continue to monitor the situation and do everything we can to assist our employee-partners during this time,” the statement read.

Witnesses told CBS 2 that the tent was covering chairs and tables in the parking lot when it collapsed. The station also noticed investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration at the scene.

The Bedford Park Department of Buildings is also investigating the tent collapse, according to CBS 2.

No foul play is suspected at this time while police continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
