Far Cry 6 is the latest title in the Far Cry series and is set on the fictional Caribbean island Yara based on modern-day Cuba. In the game, you will play the role of Dani Rojas, a former officer in the Yaran armed forces, with the goal of bringing the nation back to its former glory.
Players can explore the entirety of Yara, but if you are wondering what exactly is its size, we have got the answer for you.
Far Cry 6 map size
As seen in the map image taken from a Far Cry 6 cutscene, it is 8.24 km vertically (Y-axis) and 8.2 km horizontally (X-axis). That means that the total area of the map is 67.5 km² which is approximately two to three times larger than Far Cry 5's map.
The map features a total of seven main areas, including El Este, Esperanza, Isla del León, Isla Santuario, Madrugada, Valle de Oro, and the Zamok Archipielago. While the rest of it is covered with water, players can use boats and aircraft to cover it completely.
You can have a look at our Far Cry 6 map guide which explains all the regions and lists the ones that are the best for exploration.
Far Cry 6 is available to download and play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon Luna and Stadia. You can have a look at its official story trailer uploaded by Ubisoft on YouTube:
